SPV General Manager
As an SPV General Manager in the Operations team I have responsibility for management of the PPP companies for two road projects in Ireland, the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy (in construction) and the N11 Arklow Rathnew PPP project (in operations).
I manage the relationship between the client, the contractor and the operator as well as liaison with third parties. The main skills required are communication and leadership – both projects involve engaging with a wide spectrum of parties.
At present, I’m focussed on the completion of construction of the M11 project which will open to traffic in July and a smooth transition and handover to operations.
Previously we achieved the early opening to traffic of the N11 Arklow Rathnew - the road opened seven weeks ahead of schedule, delivering considerable time savings to the travelling public. The project also won an award for Engineering Project of the Year in 2015.
I joined BAM originally as a Developments Manager working in bidding as I felt the role complemented my previous experience in Design, Build, Finance and Operate projects in the UK and my qualifications in civil engineering and construction law. When the N11 Arklow Rathnew project reached Financial Close I moved into the Operations team to continue my involvement with the project into construction.
The role in Operations gives me the opportunity to use all my skills and experience while also knowing when to access our in-house expertise.
