Joris van Papenrecht
After obtaining his LLM degree at the University of Amsterdam Joris joined law firm Hogan Lovells in 1999. He joined BAM PPP in 2006 and has worked for the company in various roles before he was appointed Commercial Director of BAM PPP BV, an international role, in 2017.
As Commercial Director he is now responsible for the company’s strategic-planning processes and execution, BAM PPP’s growth ambitions in selected international PPP markets and for leading BAM PPP PGGM Infrastructure Coöperatie U.A., the long-term partnership between BAM PPP and co-shareholder PGGM to invest in social and transport PPP projects.
Having worked in the PPP market for over 15 years in various roles and across jurisdictions, Joris developed a strong overarching understanding of the PPP business and its principles and is convinced of the benefits the PPP structure can bring to its public clients, given that the public asset is provided as a full service and remuneration is linked to performance.
“What differentiates BAM PPP from many competitors in the market is that we take responsibility for the project throughout the entire length of the concession. We provide our customers with a first-class service until the day of the contractual hand over. Another differentiator is our wide in-house expertise, which is amongst the broadest in the industry. Our people speak and understand the languages of all specialisms involved and therefore we are very well positioned to manage all phases of PPP projects, from developing the bid and a healthy financing solution, into construction, operations and maintenance.”
Joris enjoys sailing and spending time with his family, and is a dedicated follower of football club AJAX.
