Project summary
West Dunbartonshire Council's PPP project will see three of the Authority's six secondary schools and one of its primary schools being replaced by modern, well designed and fit for purpose Community Learning Centres which will additionally accommodate an Early Education and Childcare Centre, a Communications Base for pupils on the Autistic spectrum and extensive sporting and community facilities.
BAM PPP, BAM Construction, BAM Design, and BAM FM, together with other members of the design and delivery supply chain, combined to deliver an effective one-stop-shop approach to deliver new-build replacement facilities for four schools.
The schools are:
- Vale of Leven Academy (1,100 pupils),
- Clydebank High School (1,500 pupils),
- St Peter the Apostle High School (1,500 pupils to accommodate the amalgamation of St Columba's and St Andrew's High Schools) and
- St Eunan's Primary School / Early Education & Childcare Centre (442 pupils - co-located with the St Peter the Apostle High School).
The schools are all of distinct and bespoke design with each school responding to its educational needs, site characteristics and particular stakeholder requirements. All of the schools will have extended opening during evenings and weekends to provide high quality facilities for community use
BAM PPP, as the sole investor, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project throughout its life, with BAM FM providing operational and maintenance services which will include:
- Janitorial services
- Security
- Energy and utilities management
- Building fabric maintenance
- Waste management
- Helpdesk
